Revitalizing the Minds of Our Elderly

Recent research has shown that cannabis use can actually improve the memory and cognitive functions of our elderly population. This new study was led by Andreas Zimmer from Germany’s University of Bonn. The research, which was recently published in the journal of Nature Medicine, divulges the impacts of marijuana on the elderly mouse brain.

According to the study, THC may help reverse aging of the elderly brain.

The amounts of THC administered in this study were small enough to reep the benefits of the herb without getting the participant "high." As Scientific American writes, the result of administering THC to elderly mice was that “neurons in the hippocampus—a brain area critical for learning and memory—had sprouted more synaptic spines, the points of contact for communication between neurons.”

Further research is needed to confirm these findings but we already know the benefits of smoke!
